Instant Pot Shepherd's Pie

Ingredients

  • 1lb ground beef (or lamb)
  • 2 cups mashed potatoes
  • 16 oz bag frozen peas & carrots
  • 1 1/2 cup water
  • 3 beef bouillon cubes (or 1 1/2 cup beef stock)
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Pinch salt & pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat instant pot on SAUTE setting. When hot, drizzle with Olive oil and add ground beef. Cook and drain. 

  2. Stir flour into cooked ground beef. Slowly pour in broth. Add seasonings. Mix. 

  3. Continue mixing until gravy it starts to bubble and thicken. Cancel saute setting. 

  4. Stir in peas and carrots. Top with mashed potatoes and butter.

  5. To heat through, choose one of the following-

    1. MANUAL setting, Low Pressure 5 minutes.

    2. KEEP WARM setting for 30 minutes. 

  6. Scoop and serve!
